In the Presence of the Givers

Benevolent aliens called the Council of Roots, aka the Givers, are the real reason we have trees on the earth. Ignorant to our gifts, humans have recently invented artificial trees, in yet another act of playing God. 

The Givers genuinely doubt if this earth needs them anymore, thus it summons a few selected humans for counsel in the form of a citizens’ assembly. Will the player come to the right conclusion? Can humanity truly survive on its own? More crucially, is humanity beyond salvation? 

Do we deserve salvation? Do we need to be saved?
